A Case of Bilateral Sector Retinitis Pigmentosa




Abstract
Cases of sector retinitis pigmentosa, a variant of typical retinitis pigmentosa, are seen infrequently. It is chracterized by pigmentary changes occurring in one quadrant of the retina, visual field defects usually only in the region of retinal pigmentation. And minimal or no extention of retinal area involved with time.
The authors experienced a 45-year-old male patient who suffered from bilateral symmetric sector retinitis pigmentosa, residing in inferior quadrants, producing corresponding defect in the superior visual field.
